Well, things haven't been all that eventful the past couple of days.

I've finished Chapters 1 and 2 of my story. Here is the link for chapter 1:
http://thehabitation.forummotion.com/stories-f10/firebird-chapter-1-t411.htm

I'll soon upload chapter 2.

So, the two main characters of the story are Jason and Kalani (Kalani is the name of the Firebird. I chose the name at random, just because it sounded nice. But, when I looked up the name meaning, I was surprised to see that it means 'the sky'. That's quite fitting, seeing that she is a bird.)

Lately, I've been uploading whole albums onto my youtube account. My channel is dedicated to 60s and 70s music, and I'm uploading whatever sounds good to me. It will be a prime spot for 60s and 70s psychedelic rock, progressive rock, blues rock, hard rock, folk, and pop. If you want to check out what I've uploaded so far, you can get there via this link.

Anyways, I've not much else to say right now. I hope to have more to say soon, so that my posts are more meaningful.

Work was hell tonight. It was just me and Kris closing our department, and we had lots to do. We had so much that we didn't get everything done.

To top it all off, my good mood swiftly vanished and I became a miserable sob. Kris started yelling at Spencer for standing around and talking and generally doing nothing.

Oh what a fun place a grocery store is.

Kill me now.

I'm not going to postpone getting my passport anymore. I'm going to get it so that I can finally head to the Philippines to start teaching English. Man, teaching is going to be a hell of a lot more satisfying than weighing No Name Sweet Pickled Pork Roasts.

-

So, I've started my story, which is appropriately called "Firebird" (seeing as 1) it was inspired by a song of the same name, and 2) I couldn't be bothered to think of a better name). So far I'm introducing the main character, Jason (I haven't figured out a last name for him yet, but maybe a surname isn't all that important?), and his sad situation (getting fired from his job).

Don't worry, as the name suggests, there is going to be a Firebird (or Phoenix, if you will). She'll make her appearance in the second chapter. I wish I could go straight to her, that beautiful bird, but when writing a story, you have to introduce the atmosphere and setting before you dive right in.

I'm off to do some more work on my story and to listen to some music. See you later.

Thought I'd create an account this evening and start sharing myself with you.

Another day of poetry writer's block. Thankfully, I can turn to story writing for now, and I have just gotten inspiration for a story after listening to the song "Firebird" by White Noise.

I cannot get that song out of my head. I love it.

There appear to be no signs of it on any lyric sites, so I had to write them down myself:

"By the storm blown down,
she'd a broken wing,
when I took her in
hoping she'd stay.
Milk and honey fed,
in a feathered bed,
she got well
and my love flew away.

(Chorus)
Firebird,
fly high fly free,
I can't hold you down,
You're too wild for me.

I would search for you,
in a nest we knew,
but the feathers and straw
had grown cold.
(Unintelligible Line),
You'd come back to me,
And your warm body
with me to hold.

(Chorus)

With the break of dawn,
all the dream is gone,
and I sink once again
to the ground.
But I'm just as high
on a rock looking up,
as I was on
a cloud looking down.

(Chorus)"

Lovely, isn't it? Plus, the fact that I am extremely in love with birds, NAY, anything with wings, this song is an instant favourite.  Here's the link to the song, which I posted on youtube:

Hopefully working on this story will help me break my poetry writer's block.

I went to see the new Bond movie, "Quantum of Solace". Action-wise, it definitely delivered. YAY EXPLOSIONS!

Unfortunately, this new Bond isn't really James Bond to me. James Bond was always a witty, charming man. This new Bond, played by Daniel Craig, is a stone-faced killing machine. He's so cold and emotionless, and he is constantly out for revenge (rather like Timothy Dalton in License to Kill).

Personally, I like Sean Connery, Roger Moore, and Pierce Brosnan. Those guys are the true 007.

If you like action, I'd recommend you see it. If you like the old Bond, however, you might come away feeling somewhat disappointed.

Apparently my Dad got a new dog several weeks ago and didn't tell me about it until today.

I have not seen her yet, but my stepmom is going to send some pictures. Apparently she's a German Sherpherd-mix. She's only 7-8 months old, and she's already been abused and been through several homes (my dad and stepmom adopted her from the humane society 3 weeks ago). Her original name was Isis (yay egypt!), but they renamed her Quasar. Sounds quite sci-fi, does it not? (Apparently Quasar stands for Quasi-Stellar Radio Source, but that doesn't really matter. It's an awesome name)

I can't wait to meet her. Hopefully, in a few weeks, I'll get a chance to go to my Dad's house to meet her. YAY

Not much else to say, except "Fly high, fly free"!

Yours, with Interstellar Love,
